3DS:Remove outlines in Pokémon games

Removing outlines in Pokémon games will require you to have CFW with Luma3DS, preferably updated to the latest version. This will remove outlines from the Player, NPCs and Pokémon, in the overworld, in battles, in Pokémon-Amie and in Pokémon Refresh. However, it will not remove outlines from the UI (text boxes, health bars and more). This is valid for all mainline Pokémon games (XY, ORAS, SM, and USUM). Other Pokémon games can't have their outlines removed.

Using CheatsUsing Multi-Pokémon Framework

Cheats work even on outdated versions but they are unstable and may crash frequently.

For Pokémon Sun and Moon/Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

1. Open the Checkpoint app on the HOME Menu.
2. Select your Pokémon game by pressing A when the icon is highlighted on the top screen.
   • If you do not see your game, try launching the game, playing for a while then closing it. Upon doing this, open Checkpoint again
   • If you still do not see your game, press and hold B to refresh the title list
3. Select the Cheats button on the bottom screen.
4. Search in the list for "No Outlines vX.X", then press A when the cheat is highlighted.
   • Replace "vX.X" with the current version you have for the game. For example, if you currently run the game using update v.1.1, get the cheat that says "No Outlines v1.1"
5. Press A if Checkpoint prompts you to save the cheat file for this game.
6. Close Checkpoint.
7. Launch the game you chose the cheat for.
8. Press L + D-Pad Down + SELECT to open the Rosalina Menu.
   • This is the default configuration; if you have broken buttons, you may be using an alternate configuration that changes the key combination to X + Y or Y + B
9. Go to Cheats....
10. Press A on "No Outlines vX.X".
11. Press B until Rosalina Menu is closed.
    • If you did this while in-game, try walking to another area or going into a battle for the "No Outlines" cheat to be applied

For Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

1. Turn off your device.
2. Take the SD card off and insert it into your computer.
3. Create a folder called cheats on the SD card root if it doesn't exist already.
4. Inside the cheats folder, create a text document (a .txt file) named with the Title ID for your respective version:
   • Omega Ruby: 000400000011C400
   • Alpha Sapphire: 000400000011C500
5. Open your text document, then copy and paste the following cheat codes depending on the update you are running your game:

6. Reinsert your SD card, then power on your device
7. Launch Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire
8. Press L + ↓ + SELECT to open the Rosalina Menu.
   • This is the default configuration; if you have broken buttons, you may be using an alternate configuration that changes the key combination to X + Y or Y + B
9. Go to Cheats....
10. Press A on "No Outlines vX.X".
11. Press B until Rosalina Menu is closed.

6. Insert your SD back into your device, then power on your console
7. Launch Pokémon X/Y
8. Press L + ↓ + SELECT to open Rosalina menu.
   • This is the default configuration; if you have broken buttons, you may be using an alternate configuration that changes the key combination to X + Y or Y + B
9. Go to Cheats....
10. Press A on "No Outlines vX.X".
11. Press B until Rosalina Menu is closed.
    • If you did this while in-game, try walking to another area or going into a battle for the "No Outlines" cheat to be applied.

Multi-Pokémon Framework requires the latest game updated to be installed but it is more stable than cheats.

1. Make sure to have Multi-Pokémon Framework installed and working.
2. Launch your desired game.
   • if Multi-Pokémon Framework is working the screen should flash blue.
3. Load your save.
4. Press SELECT to open Multi-Pokémon Framework's menu.
5. Go to Miscellaneous.
6. Go to Remove Outlines and press A.
7. Press B to go back.
8. Press SELECT to close Multi-Pokémon Framework.
