A Virtual Console (VC) title is an official way that Nintendo has provided to play versions of older games on the Wii. These Virtual Console games appear as individual icons on the Wii Menu.

Most of these titles leverage off of Nintendo-made emulators, and offer additional functionality, like Suspend Points and Operational Manuals.

Creating Virtual Console Injects

By using PC software such as FriishProduce, you can "inject" a rom file from select consoles into a Virtual Console title. This guide will help you step by step on how to use FriishProduce for Virtual Console "injections".

Troubleshooting

Stretched Image on games

If youre using the 16:9 "Widescreen" Mode on your Wii/vWii and you see that your game is stretched, it might be due to a Title ID error causing the console to not register it as a 4:3 game.

Replace the first letter of the Title ID within FriishProduce to the letter that coresponds with the correct console youre using for Injections. Look at the graph below to find the correct letter you need.

Injections not booting/Showing black screen

vThis issue is more than likely caused by a compatibility with the Emulator youre injecting too. Try a different Base (.wad) file and inject your game again. If this persists, then the game may be completely incompatible.

To see if your game is compatible, please check this Compatibility List (still under development).
