delete my account
just delete my account - panencakes
no :chadgif: - eip
By not deleting my account upon request, this website is in violation of Europes GDPR laws and will be reported if I do not have my account deleted within the next 24 hours, this website is already in violation by not allowing users to delete their accounts already.
I mean I'm sure we can do it. but if you're trying to take the nuclear option and remove all your contributions, I believe they're already licensed as cc-by-SA, regardless of your account status, so... -eip
I dont want my contributions removed, I just want my account and all personal data collected on me to be deleted, im not trying to take a "nuclear option" like you are assuming, I just dont wanna be associated with this website or the community anymore.
"Mr.whine" didn't have to give you a 24h deadline either, I could have took your no and had the whole website shut down but I didn't, you should think next time you speak eip because your mouth can cause problems for everyone else
my brother in christ make up your mind do you want everything to be deleted and to 'not be associated with the community' or do you want to hide with alts and watch things you can't have it both ways
whether I have an "alt" or not is unrelated to me requesting to have my account and information deleted, (and fyi I can totally have it both ways and there is nothing you can do about it :dogekek:)
- @Panencakes: As far as I can tell, the only personal data we have from you would be your email address, which I don't mind deleting from the database. That is as much as I can do though. Since you asked to be removed from the wiki I blocked your account, if you ever want to appeal this, use your talk page. ihaveahax (talk) 13:50, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
Offline preservation
Hello, how are you? I recently got an old 3ds and I was able to mod it and I owe you a lot of joy.
Have you thought about leaving a link to download the whole page and have it archived offline in case “something happens”?
I'm making notes and saving files for the console I have, but if maybe in the future I get other models and this beautiful page disappears all the knowledge would be lost!
Maybe have a Tor/i2P version or seed with torrent.... I don't know, a plan B.
Thanks for all your effort, have a nice day beautiful people. :DDD!! Vigilante8 (talk) 23:32, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- A download for the wiki? Currently you can do this a few ways:
- "Print" the page and save it to a PDF, so you have an always-accessible version of it
- Use Special:Export to export any pages you want, and then import the resulting XML file to a second MediaWiki instance
- There are private daily backups of the database, an XML export, and settings. I don't currently have something to export something like html copies of every page automatically, but I'm not against having publicly-accessible exports for offline use.
- A quick search finds me this but I haven't used it myself yet: https://github.com/SolidCharity/exportMediaWiki2HTML ihaveahax (talk) 23:41, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- I was more like having the whole wiki and all the necessary files offline to follow it, I haven't done this for a long time but once I used Httrack to download a forum before it dies, but well I'm not a connoisseur of this, some things worked, others not so much.
- Oh what the heck I'm going to try it tomorrow xD , it's very late here, I didn't think someone would respond so fast. Thanks my friend. I'll read you tomorrow! Vigilante8 (talk) 23:56, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
- Installing Httrack:
- sudo pacman -Sy httrack
- First try:
- httrack https://wiki.hacks.guide -W -O "/home/[user]/websites/wiki.hacks.guide" -%v +* -r3 %e1 %u %s
- At first glance it seems to have worked at least the first few pages, I have to keep refining it. Vigilante8 (talk) 02:00, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
