Remove Shiny- Locks in Pokémon games
This guide will show you how to remove shiny locks and edit shiny chance from the generation 6 and 7 Pokémon games on the 3DS using LayeredFS and pk3DS
Compatibility Notes
| This guide requires you have CFW with Luma3DS 8.0+ (preferably latest). |
| This guide requires a computer running Windows. |
What You Need
Section I - Dumping exefs and romfs from your game
- Press and hold Start, while still holding Start, power on your console to launch GodMode9
- Navigate to
[C:] GAMECART - Press A on
[TitleID].trim.3ds - Select NCSD image options...
- Select Mount image to drive
- Press A to enter drive
- Press A on
content0.game - Hover over the folder
exefsand press R + A - Select
Copy to 0:/gm9/out - When done hover over the folder
romfsand press R + A - Select
Copy to 0:/gm9/out - When thats done press Start
- Your dumped
exefsandromfscan be found in/gm9/out/
Section II - Removing shiny lock and edit shiny chance

- Power off your console
- insert your SD Card into your Computer
- create a folder on your Computer named after the game you want to patch
[gamefolder] - Move the
exefsandromfsfolders from your SD Card in the folder you just created[gamefolder] - go into the
exefsfolder - rename the
.codefile to.code.bin - extract the pk3DS
.zipon your Computer and double click onpk3DS.WinForms.exe - click on
file,open - now select the folder where the
exefsandromfsfolders are located - in pk3DS click on
ExeFS, than onShiny Rate - here click on
EVERYTHING SHINYand than onSAVE, this is to check, if everything is running correct - Now click on
RomFS, than onStatic Encounters - in Section
GiftsandEncountersremove the tick on Shiny Locks on every Pokemon - Click on
SAVEand close pk3DS - go into your
exefsfolder and copy.code.bin - Paste the
.code.binfolder in the Root of the game folder you created on step 3 - Rename the
.code.binfile tocode.bin - Copy the file called 9 in
[gamefolder]\romfs\a\1\5to the root of the[gamefolder]
Section III - Preparing the SD Card
- On Your SD Card go to
/luma/titles/and create a folder with the correspondingTitleIDof the game you patched- Create a
titlesfolder if you don't already have one
- Create a

code.binin theTitleIDfolder - in the
TitleIDfolder create a folder calledromfs - in the
romfsfolder create a folder calleda - in the
afolder create 4 folders called0,1,2and3 - in each of the 4 folders need to be 10 folders called
0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8and9 - copy the file called
9of the root of the[gamefolder]and paste it in[TitleID]\romfs\a\1\5
