- Turn on your 3DS
- Press any button to start the test
- The test will take up to 45 minutes, when it's done press any button to turn it off, then open the newly generated
HWTEST.LOG
file on the SD card in a text editor - Scroll down to the end, and look at the number of errors
- If the number is 0 your console's RAM is not the issue
- If the number is more than 0, your console's RAM is dying and you need to replace the motherboard
- Delete

Instructions
What you need
- Luma3DS or fastboot3DS Custom firmware installed on your console
- the latest release of 3ds_hw_test
Hardware test
- Place
3ds_hw_test.firm
in the root of your SD card - Turn on your 3DS while holding HOME to enter the fastboot3DS menu
- Select
[+]Boot from file...
->sdmc:
->3ds_hw_test.firm
- Press any button to start the test
- The test will take up to 45 minutes, when it's done press any button to turn it off, then open the newly generated
