cdbackup is an app that lets you backup, restore, or wipe Wii Message Board data. This app could be useful if you have a mail brick on your console.

Downloading

  1. Extract cdbackup and put it in your apps folder on your SD card or USB drive
    • The root of your SD Card should now look like this
      • File icon (root)
        • Folder icon apps
          • Folder icon cdbackup
            • File icon boot.dol
            • File icon icon.png
            • File icon meta.xml
  2. Insert your SD card or USB drive into your Wii and launch cdbackup from the Homebrew Channel.
  3. Usage

  • If you want backup your Wii Message Board data press A. The backup will be saved onto the root of the SD card, copy cdbackup.vff to somewhere safe on your computer.
  • If you want to restore a Wii Message Board backup, copy cdbackup.vff to the root of your SD card then press +, or Y if your using a Wii Classic Controller.
  • If you want to delete your Wii Message Board data, just press -, or X if your using a Wii Classic Controller. This could be useful if you are mail bricked.
