What you need
- An UDPIH device such as a Raspberry Pi Zero/Pico (or any RP2040 device), or a hacked Nintendo Switch (Unpatched or Chipped).
- Aroma
- Scroll down to the Download section.
- Read through the steps and click on the checkboxes.
- Click on
Download Payloads
andDownload Base Aroma
.
- LoadRPX UDPIH Payload (Source).
- The latest release of the PayloadLoader Installer.
SD Prep
- Copy the contents of the downloaded Aroma
.zip
files to the root of your SD Card. - Copy the
recovery_menu
file from therecovery_menu.zip
to the root of your SD Card. - Copy the
PayloadLoader Installer.wuhb
from the PayloadLoader Installer.zip
tosd:/wiiu/apps
on your SD Card. - Copy the
root.rpx
file fromsd:/wiiu/environments/aroma
to root of the SD Card, and rename tolaunch.rpx
. - Insert the SD Card into the Wii U.
UDPIH
- Shut off your Wii U, if it was on.
- Unplug the Wii U from power, and then replug it.
- Power on your Wii U.
- As soon as you see the Wii U logo, plug in your UDPIH device.
- Load any application. You should now see the EnvironmentLoader.
- Navigate to and select the
aroma
environment. - Select
Wii U Menu
. - At the Wii U Menu, launch the PayloadLoader Installer.
- Press A to
Check
. - Press A on
Install / Update
. - You’ll be asked if you are sure you want to install the PayloadLoader. Use the D-Pad to select
Install
and press A. - Press A to shut down the console.
NAND Backup
A NAND Backup cannot be done without a GamePad. Please get a GamePad ASAP to perform a NAND Backup. |
- Power on the console.
- Launch the Health and Safety application while holding B.
- Select
nanddumper
. - Make the settings look like this and then press A. MLC is optional as it is the biggest part of the NAND Backup (8gb or 32gb depending on your model).
- SLC: Yes
- SLCCMPT: Yes
- MLC: Optional
- OTP: Yes
- SEEPROM: Yes
- Wait for it to finish. It may take a few hours if you opted to dump MLC.
- To make sure you don’t lose the files, copy the
slc.bin
,slccmpt.bin
,seeprom.bin
,otp.bin
and if you chose to go with a full backup, everymlc.bin.part
file to your computer. - Delete the files to free up space on the SD Card.
Autobooting PayloadLoader
This section is optional. If you do not want to autoboot into the PayloadLoader, then skip to Finalizing Setup. |
- Start the console to boot into the Wii U Menu, launch the Health and Safety Information app.
- Navigate the list using the D-Pad and navigate to the
aroma
environment, press A to launch it. - Select
Wii U Menu
. - At the Wii U Menu, launch the PayloadLoader Installer.
- Press A to select
Check
. - Select
Boot Options
. - You will be asked if you want to switch the boot title. Press A to select
Switch to PayloadLoader
. - When the process finished, press A to shutdown the console.
- The PayloadLoader will now be launched automatically on every boot.
