Checking SD card integrity/Mac

From Hacks Guide Wiki
< Checking SD card integrityThis is the approved revision of this page, as well as being the most recent.

This is an add-on section for checking your SD card for errors using F3XSwift.

Depending on the size of your SD card and the speed of your computer, this process can take up to several hours!

This page is for Mac users only. If you are not on macOS, check out the Windows or Linux pages.

Info icon F3XSwift is only compatible with macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and above. If you have an older version of macOS, follow this page instead.

Warning icon Copy all of your SD's contents to your PC and then format the SD card before starting this guide. If you do not, F3XSwift will be unable to test the parts of the SD that still have data in them.

What You Need

  • The latest version of F3XSwift (the .app.zip file)

Instructions

  1. Insert your SD card into your computer
  2. Run the F3XSwift app
  3. Select your SD card from the list of volumes
  4. Click "Test"
  5. Click "Open" to confirm writing to your SD card
  6. Wait until the process is complete
Success icon If the test shows the result Success! Your card is ok!, your SD card is likely good. You can delete all .h2w files on your SD card.
Critical icon If the test shows any other results, your SD card is failing. You will have to replace it!
