3DS:DS games/Widescreen

This guide will allow you to run your digital DS games in widescreen.

Only some games are supported. A list of supported games can be found here.

Instructions

Open the Universal-Updater application (the blue down arrow icon)
Use the D-Pad to navigate between applications and the A button to select an application
Use the Search to look for and select TWPatch
Under Available Downloads, select either TWPatch.cia or TWPatch.3dsx, then press A again to install it
- CIA files will appear on your HOME Menu in a gift box after you exit Universal-Updater
- 3DSX files will become available in the Homebrew Launcher application

Insert your SD card into your computer
Copy TWPatch.cia to the cias folder on your SD card
- Create the folder if it does not exist; it is for organization purposes
Insert your SD card into your console
Power on your console
Launch FBI
Navigate to SD -> cias
Press A while TWPatch.cia is selected, then select Install and delete CIA(s)
Wait for the process to complete
Exit FBI

Launch TWPatch
Press Y + B to open the patching menu
Navigate to Widescreen patch (384x240 16:10), then press A to select it
- Optionally, you may want to enable GPU scaling (blurry, no filters) for a less pixelated widescreen.
Press B, then press START to begin creating the patch
When finished, press SELECT to close TWPatch
Power off your console
Insert your SD card into your computer
Move TwlBg.cxi from sd:/luma/sysmodules/ to sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/TwlBg/
- If the TwlBg folder doesn't exist, create it.
Rename TwlBg.cxi to Widescreen.cxi
Eject your SD card and insert it into your console
Power on your console while holding SELECT to boot into the Luma

Launch your forwarded game of choice while holding Y to bring up the ntr-forwarder menu
Navigate to "Widescreen" and toggle it to "On" with A
Press START to save

All of TWL_FIRM (DS mode) is in Widescreen

Delete TwlBg.cxi in sd:/luma/sysmodules/
