MSET (combined with a compatible flashcart) is compatible with system version 4.0.0-4.5.0 and 6.0.0-6.4.0.
What You Need
- Any DS flashcart that works on your device version
- The latest release of SafeB9SInstaller (direct download)
- The latest release of boot9strap (direct download)
- The latest release of Luma3DS (the Luma3DS
.zipfile)
Instructions
Section I - Prep Work
- Power off your device
- Insert your SD card into your computer
- Copy
boot.firmandboot.3dsxfrom the Luma3DS.zipto the root of your SD card - Create a folder named
boot9strapon the root of your SD card - Copy
boot9strap.firmandboot9strap.firm.shafrom the boot9strap.zipto the/boot9strap/folder on your SD card - Copy
SafeB9SInstaller.datfrom the SafeB9SInstaller.zipto the root of your SD card - Reinsert your SD card into your device
- Copy
SafeB9SInstaller.ndsfrom the SafeB9SInstaller.zipto your DS flashcart - Reinsert your flashcart into your device
- Power on your device
Section II - Launching SafeB9SInstaller
- Start your DS flashcart from your device
- Boot
SafeB9SInstaller.ndsusing your flashcart - Select the correct option for your system version
- 4.X.X -> "4.x SafeB9SInstaller"
- 6.X.X -> "6.x SafeB9SInstaller"
- Reboot the system, then go to System Settings, then "Other Settings", then "Profile", then "Nintendo DS Profile"
- If the exploit was successful, you will have booted into SafeB9SInstaller
Section III - Installing boot9strap
- When prompted, input the key combo given on the top screen to install boot9strap
- Once it is complete, press (A) to reboot your device
- Your device should have rebooted into the Luma3DS configuration menu
- If your device shuts down when you try to power it on, ensure that you have copied
boot.firmfrom the Luma3DS.zipto the root of your SD card
- If your device shuts down when you try to power it on, ensure that you have copied
- Press (Start) to save and reboot
- If you get an error, just continue to the next page
At this point, your console will boot to Luma3DS by default.
- Luma3DS does not look any different from the normal HOME Menu. If your console has booted into the HOME Menu, it is running custom firmware.
- On the next page, you will install useful homebrew applications to complete your setup.
