Wii:EmuNAND

EmuNANDs allow you to redirect the Wii's internal storage directly to your SD card or USB drive. This is useful because on the Wii, you are normally limited to the 512mb that you get on the console, whereas with EmuNAND you can theoretically one as big as youd like. This makes saving your games much more streamlined and even just being able to install more channels.

Generating an EmuNAND

Requirements

What you need:

  1. An SD card or USB drive
  2. WiiFlow

What you need:

  1. An SD card or USB drive
  2. A Windows PC
  3. Modmii

Instructions

  Make sure you install cIOS before continuing with this tutorial!
  1. Extract the usbloader_gx.zip and copy the apps folder to the root of your SD card or USB drive.
  2. Eject the SD card or USB drive and insert it into your Wii.
  3. Launch USB Loader GX in the Homebrew Channel.
  4. Select the gear icon in the bottom left.
  5. Select Miscellaneous Settings on the first page of the Global Settings tab.
  6. Scroll down until you see Dump NAND to EmuNAND, then select it.
  7. Select Everything. This will begin dumping your entire Wii's nand to EmuNAND. By default it will be saved to root:/nands/01.

  Make sure you install cIOS before continuing with this tutorial!
  1. Extract the wiiflow.zip and copy the apps folder to the root of your SD card or USB drive.
  2. Eject the SD card or USB drive and insert it into your Wii.
  3. Launch WIiFlow WFL in the Homebrew Channel.
  4. Select the icon with the two gears at the bottom.
  5. Select Set for NAND Emulation Settings on page 1.
  6. Select Extract NAND on page 3 of NAND Emulation Settings. This will begin dumping your entire Wii's nand to EmuNAND. By default it will be saved to root:/nands/default.

  1. Download and launch the ModMii installer.
  2. Launch ModMii Classic (NOT ModMii Skin).
  3. Type I Agree and press enter.
  4. Type S and press enter to go to sneek creation menu.
  5. Type 2 and press enter
  6. Type either S for SD use, or U for USB use, then press enter. DI access is not really needed.
  7. Type D and press enter
  8. Type your preffered region letter, then press enter.
  9. Type your preffered System Menu version, then press enter.
  10. Select an option for either postloader, open homebrew channel, or both, then press enter.
  11. Type N and enter. cIOS is not very useful on EmuNAND.
  12. Type N and enter. NMM is not useful.
  13. You may choose if you want Priiloader on your EmuNAND or not, then press enter.
  14. You may choose if you want a WiiFlow Forwarder Channel or not, then press enter.
  15. Type N and enter. neek2o is somewhat depreciated now.
  16. Type the serial number for your Wii or Wii U located on the side of the console, then press enter. If the sticker is not readable or nonexistent, then you can also run InspectMii on your Wii in the HomeBrew Channel to obtain the Serial Number.
  17. You may choose a theme if you wish, then press enter.
  18. You may choose to add additional system channels if you wish, then press enter.
  19. Type A an press enter to add a folder of WADs to your emunand. put all of your WAD files in it, drag and drop the folder into modmii, and press enter.
  20. Press Y and enter to start the build process.
  21. Copy the files inside the COPY_TO_SD folder onto your SD card or USB drive.

Installing Additional WADs to an EmuNAND

If you would like to add additional WADs after building an emunand, follow the steps below.

  3. Modmii

Instructions

  Make sure you install cIOS before continuing with this tutorial!
  1. Extract the usbloader_gx.zip and copy the apps folder to the root of your SD card or USB drive.
  2. Place WAD files in a folder called WAD on the root of your SD or USB drive.
  3. Eject the SD card or USB drive and insert it into your Wii.
  4. Launch USB Loader GX in the Homebrew Channel.
  5. Select the gear icon in the bottom left.
  6. Select Miscellaneous Settings on the first page of the Global Settings tab.
  7. Scroll down until you see EmuNAND WAD Manager, then select it.
  8. Select File for a single wad install, or folder for batch install.
  9. It should automatically locate the WAD folder. If not, navigate to your WAD folder then select OK, then Install. It will then begin installing the WAD file(s) to your EmuNAND.

  7. Select Install Wad on page 3 of NAND Emulation Settings.
  8. Navigate to your WAD folder then select the WAD file you would like to install.
  9. Select the EmuNAND you would like to install to, then select Go. It will then begin installing the WAD file to your EmuNAND.

  1. Download and launch ModMii Classic (NOT ModMii Skin).
  2. Type I Agree and press enter.
  3. Type S and press enter to go to sneek creation menu.
  4. Type 5 and press enter
  5. Navigate to your EmuNAND path, drag and drop the folder into modmii, and press enter.
  6. You may choose to modify anything in your emunand here, otherwise, skip everything until it will allow you to add a folder to install WADs.
  7. Type A an press enter to add a folder of WADs to your emunand. put all of your WAD files in it, drag and drop the folder into modmii, and press enter.
  8. Type Y and enter to start the install process.

  1. Download and extract the .zip file
  2. Launch the ShowMiiWads_WinXX.exe depending on whether your PC is 64 or 32 bit.
  3. In the options tab, select Change NAND Backup Path.
  4. Navigate to your EmuNAND folder and select it.
  5. In the file tab, select Open Folder.
  6. Navigate to the folder with all of your WAD files are and select it.
  7. Select all the wads you would like to install.
  8. Right click, go to Extract, then select To NAND. It should extract your WAD files to your EmuNAND.
