3DS:TWLFix/Manual

If the TWLFix instructions do not work and you notice the DSiWare Uninstaller consistently has a failed uninstall, you may have better luck forcibly deleting them and then reinstalling copies of them that are known to not be corrupt.

Required Reading

This guide should not be tried unless both TWLFix and manually deleting the titles fail when paired with a system update. Performing this guide will render your console permanently unable to redownload TWL Version Data from official sources, meaning you will have to use the CIA linked here if it breaks again.

Section I - Prep Work

In this section, you will download known clean versions of the DS titles and prepare them for installation.

1. Using a torrent client such as qBitTorrent or Deluge, download the four following .cia files from their magnet links.
   • TWL Version Data: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:4A106681407FEDE5DE95CC8BDA635432481F6B5D
   • DS Internet: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:2B9DF8496922F2546DFB0B01220068CE53C19D3D
   • DS Download Play: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:B581D3C5D98F5E621FDDFC1CE5704BB45BF05A8C
   • Nintendo DS Cart Whitelist: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:7B90D506AD032A581A00035616EAA17A68C48EFF
2. Depending on whether your 3DS is a new model or an old, download one of these two .cias from its magnet link.
   • New 3DS TWL_FIRM: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:EAB8558C97B18B1F329A2BFCC3C899B84C082A27
   • Old 3DS TWL_FIRM: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:17511EADB6E6F3FF22D04F90644E37BD2D96CA43
   • If you are not sure of your console's model, check whether it has two shoulder buttons or four - a new model has four buttons (L+ZL+ZR+R), and an old model has two L+R.
3. Move any files currently inside the folder sd:/cias onto your PC, then copy the five downloaded .cias into that folder.
4. Insert your SD into your 3DS.

Section II - Manual TWLFix

In this section, you will delete the DS titles and then install the known clean versions.

1. Power on, open FBI, and go into Titles.
2. Once all titles have loaded in, go to the bottom where titles colored in purple text appear.
3. Delete title and ticket for the following titles:
   • 0004800F484E4C41
   • 0004800F484E4841
   • DS Download Play
   • Nintendo DSi™
   • New 3DS only: 0004013820000102
   • Old 3DS only: 0004013800000102
4. Back out of Titles, go into SDCARD, and go into the cias folder.
5. Choose <current directory> and then Install all titles.
   • If any of the titles give an error during installation, skip them and attempt to install them individually. If they still give an error, ask for help and state the error code.
6. Back out of SDCARD, go into Titles, and scroll to the bottom. Ensure all of the titles you deleted in Step 3 are now present. If they are not, restart again from Step 3.
7. Exit FBI, then power off your console and power on again.
8. Attempt to open either a DS game, DSiWare, or Download Play -> Nintendo DS.
