:agreed. if any part of homebrew were to blame for this, it would more so be GodMode9... but i seriously doubt anyone would use the phrase "gm9bug" willingly, either. personally i like the name "RTC bug" the most. StarlitSkies (talk) 23:57, 17 November 2023 (UTC)

:::no, play coins are just a common reason it happens. the issue is caused by step counts in general. if you want to be as precise as possible, "Pedometer RTC bug" is the best name to use. StarlitSkies (talk) 00:16, 18 November 2023 (UTC)

"[...] When the system is next powered on after this, it detects the gap and starts listing every single date up to the new playcoin's date." What does listing mean in this context? Zbelios (talk) 08:33, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

so, i reviewed some internal archives. lemme sum this up for ya.
it has to do with a combination of gamecoin.dat and pedometer.dat. once the console catches that playcoin/pedometer data is massively out of date after rtc is updated, it starts checking the logs for every single date between the old and new rtc to find step counts and apply any additional playcoins the step counts create along the way. if there's a large time gap to cover, checking all that data one-by-one (even if most of it doesn't actually exist) takes a while. Page rename

Should this page be renamed? The name "lumabug" implies that this issue is related to Luma3DS in some way, when it isn't at all. Something like "RTC black screen bug" or "RTC bug" would be more descriptive. ihaveahax (talk) 23:48, 17 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

no, play coins are just a common mechanism for triggering the issue. the issue itself is caused by step counts in general. if you want to be as precise as possible, "Pedometer RTC bug" is the best name to use. StarlitSkies (talk) 00:16, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
