Finally got homebrew / custom firmware on your Switch? Here's a list of common things you can do with it.

Most, if not all of the homebrew listed should be on hbappstore (Homebrew App Store)

RetroArch - an all-in-one frontend for emulators
- Alternatively, you may use Lakka, a lightweight Linux installation that includes RetroArch

Standalone emulators not a complete list, just a quick overview:

mGBA - Game Boy Advance
Snes9x - SNES
melonDS - DS
pNES - NES
If you have installed Android or Linux on your Switch, then you can also use Dolphin for Wii / GCN games. Be aware that performance may not be the best, it varies from game to game.

Before you modify a game or its save, you should back up your save data.

Breeze-Beta - Cheats. Don't use online, you will ruin the experience for other players and get banned.

TegraExplorer - a payload-based file explorer
Switchroot Android - install Android on your Switch
Switchroot Linux - install Linux on your Switch
sys-clk - safe overclocking tool. Only use the official version of sys-clk, any modification that remove the limits are dangerous and should be avoided.
sysDVR - a tool that allows you to stream your games to your PC via network or USB
Tesla-Menu - a overlay menu comparable to the Rosalina menu on the 3DS
FTPD - a way to transfer files from and to your SD card wirelessly via FTP
Missioncontrol - module that allows you to use unsupported wireless controllers on your Switch via Bluetooth
sys-con - module that allows you to use unsupported wired controllers on your Switch via USB
