This tutorial will tell you how to backup, restore, import GCN memory cards with your Wii
| Use of any GameCube peripheral with a Family Edition Wii or Wii mini require soldering on GameCube ports and/or memory card slots. |
Requirements
- A Wii with GameCube ports
- An SD Card or USB drive
- GCMM

Instructions
Downloading
- Extract GCMM and put it in your apps folder on your SD card or USB drive
- Place the
.gciyou downloaded in a folder namedMCBACKUPon the root of your SD card- If you do not have the
MCBACKUPfolder, create it
- If you do not have the

- Insert your SD card or USB drive into your Wii and launch GCMM from the Homebrew Channel.
Restoring
- Insert your memory card into Slot A or B
- Select the device you want to restore your saves from
- Press X on GameCube Controller, or + on Wii Remote.
- Select the save you want to restore. If you want to restore all your saves, press R on GameCube controller, or 1 on Wii Remote.
- When restoring is complete, press any button to continue.



Backing up
- Insert your memory card into Slot A or B
- Select the device you want to back up your saves to
- Press Y on GameCube Controller, or - on Wii Remote.
- Select the save you want to restore. If you want to restore all your saves, press R on GameCube controller, or 1 on Wii Remote.
- When restoring is complete, press any button to continue.



Backing Up Your Physical Memory Card Into an Emulated Memory Card (.raw file)
- Insert your Memory Card into Slot A or B
- Select the device you want to restore your saves from
- Press L+Y on GameCube Controller, or B+- on Wii Remote to dump your memory card as a
.rawfile. - When the dump is complete, press any button to continue. It should be inside the
MCBACKUPfolder on the root of your SD card.


Restoring an Emulated Memory Save to a Physical Memory Card
- If you are trying to restore a save from Dolphin, go to the
Filetab in Dolphin, select open user folder, open the GC folder, and find the.rawfile. - If you are restoring a Nintendont emulated memory card save, navigate to the
savesfolder on the root of your SD card or USB. - Insert your Memory Card into Slot A or B
- Select the device you want to restore your saves from
- Press L+X on GameCube Controller, or B++ on Wii Remote to put the contents of the
.rawfile onto your memory card. - When restoration is complete, press any button to continue. It should be inside the
MCBACKUPfolder on the root of your SD card.


Transferring Saves Between 2 Physical Memory Cards
Requirements
- A Wii with GameCube ports
- At least 2 memory cards
- Insert both memory cards into your Wii
- Press the Wii icon on the bottom left, then navigate into
Data Management->Save Data->Nintendo GameCube - Find the save you want, select it and choose
MoveorCopy.
