This page is a work in progress. Notes:
This needs to be approved/verified to actually be a good idea. |
This process allows you to uninstall the custom firmware from your Switch without restoring a NAND backup. (needs confirmation)
This process factory resets the console. Back up any data that you care about before following this guide!
There is a small risk of bricking the console if the process is interrupted or performed incorrectly. It is strongly recommended to create a NAND backup before proceeding.
Disable AutoRCM if you have it enabled by following this guide.
Section I - Performing the System Wipe
- Put your Switch into RCM mode and inject the TegraExplorer.bin payload.
- Select
SystemWipe.te. - Confirm you want to wipe the SysMMC.
- Once the script finishes, press any button to return to the main menu.
- Select
Power Off.
Your console's internal memory is now as close as possible to a clean, CFW-free state.
Section II - SD Card Cleanup
To ensure no traces of CFW remain on your SD card:
- Connect your SD card to your PC.
- Back up any folders containing media (e.g., /Nintendo/Album/) that you care about to your computer.
- Format the SD card to FAT32.
- Insert the SD card back into the Switch.
