SatellaZone is a Nintendo Zone revival patch that allows you to view various archived pages and videos.

Installation

What you need

Instructions

  1. Power on your console
  2. Launch Universal-Updater
  3. Select the magnifying glass on the bottom screen, then search for SatellaZone
  4. Press A while hovering over SatellaZone from the list of homebrew
  5. Choose the option corresponding to your region
    • Choose regular for a lite experience with no video
    • Choose [local] for video (239MB)
    • Choose [local HQ] for high quality video (460MB)
  6. Wait until the patch finishes installing
  7. Close Universal-Updater
  8. Power off your console
  9. While holding SELECT, power on your console to enter the Luma3DS configuration menu
  10. Turn on Enable game patching if it is not already enabled
  11. Press START to save and exit

    • Download LocalSatellaZoneHQ.zip for high quality video (460MB)
    • Download SatellaZone.zip for a lite experience with no video
  2. Create a title ID folder on your SD card corresponding to your console region
    • EUR sd:/luma/titles/0004001000022B00
    • USA sd:/luma/titles/0004001000021B00
    • JPN sd:/luma/titles/0004001000020B00
  3. Copy the romfs folder from the SatellaZone .zip to the title ID folder you created
  4. Reinsert your SD card into your console
  5. While holding SELECT, power on your console to enter the Luma3DS configuration menu
  6. Turn on Enable game patching if it is not already enabled
  7. Press START to save and exit

USA HOME Menu patch

A USA patch is available to be able to launch Nintendo Zone from the HOME Menu. If SatellaZone was downloaded with Universal-Updater you have this patch already.

  1. Download UsaPatch.zip (direct download)
  2. Copy the luma folder from UsaPatch.zip to the root of your SD card
  3. Reinsert your SD card into your console

  1. Create a hotspot with a network name of NintendoSpotPass1 and no password
  2. Power on your console and navigate to System Settings -> Internet Settings -> Connection Settings
  3. Create a new connection to the NintendoSpotPass1 hotspot and make a note of what connection slot you set it up in
  4. Exit System Settings and return to the HOME Menu
  5. Open Rosalina menu by pressing L++select
    • This is the default configuration; if you have broken buttons, you may be using an alternate configuration that changes the key combination to X+Y or Y+B
  6. Select System configuration... -> Control Wireless connection
  7. Select the number for the connection slot of the NintendoSpotPass1 hotspot
  8. Press B until you exit Rosalina menu and wait on the HOME Menu until Nintendo Zone appears
    • You can remove the NintendoSpotPass1 connection from System Settings once done; it wont be needed again

Usage

  1. Launch Nintendo Zone from the HOME Menu
    • If you can't launch the application, or it isn't on your HOME Menu you can launch it through FBI instead. Launch FBI and select Titles -> Nintendo Zone viewer -> Launch Title
  2. When Nintendo Zone opens you will be greeted with an error
  3. Press A to continue
  4. Tap on the SatellaZone button and browse through the various pages
    • If you didn't install local SatellaZone then you won't be able to view any videos
