If you are experiencing the "System Settings loading infinitely after reinserting the SD card" error when trying to install MSET9 using the [https://3ds.hacks.guide/installing-boot9strap-(mset9-cli)#section-ii---mset9 PC (cli)] or [https://3ds.hacks.guide/installing-boot9strap-(mset9-play-store)#section-ii---mset9 Play Store] guide, this page will help you resolve that issue by using a blank SD card to perform a fresh install with either a spare SD card, or your original SD card which has been backed up and formatted to avoid issues caused by your current install.

If you are experiencing the "System Settings loading infinitely after reinserting the SD card" error or Mii Maker doesn't appear in the Extra Data menu when trying to install MSET9 using the [[3dsguide:installing-boot9strap-(mset9-cli)#section-ii---mset9|MSET9 CLI]] or [[3dsguide:installing-boot9strap-(mset9-play-store)#section-ii---mset9|MSET9 Play Store]] guides, this page will help you resolve that issue by either swapping to a spare SD card or backing up and then formatting your original SD card.

All of your original games and saves will be kept intact if you follow the steps properly.
It also works if you aren't getting the Mii Maker entry at the Extra Data screen.

Before starting this guide, please ensure the following two things:
All of your original games and saves will be intact as long as you follow the steps properly.
# You have chosen the correct model type (New vs. Old) and system version in the MSET9 setup.

#* New models have four shoulder buttons ({{B|L|ZL|ZR|R}}) and the C-Stick directly above the Y button - Old models have two shoulder buttons ({{B|L|R}}) and no C-Stick.
Before continuing please ensure you are choosing the right model (old 3DS, old 3DS XL, old 2DS vs New 3DS, New 3DS XL, New 2DS XL) and correct system version.
# You injected MSET9 in Section II Step 10, not any earlier.

#* If System Settings is stuck because you injected too early (such as in Section II Step 5), just follow the instructions for removing MSET9 and then restart from the beginning of Section II. You do not have to swap out or reformat your SD card in this case.
Also please make sure you are injecting AFTER ejecting from the extra data screen and not before.

NOTE: If your Extra Data has crashed at Section II Step 5 and you never saw the mii maker icon, you injected early. Follow the steps below to remove MSET9 and try Section II again.

Revision as of 06:11, 11 December 2023

If you are experiencing the "System Settings loading infinitely after reinserting the SD card" error when trying to install MSET9 using the PC (cli) or Play Store guide, this page will help you resolve that issue by using a blank SD card to perform a fresh install with either a spare SD card, or your original SD card which has been backed up and formatted to avoid issues caused by your current install.

It also works if you aren't getting the Mii Maker entry at the Extra Data screen.

All of your original games and saves will be intact as long as you follow the steps properly.

Before continuing please ensure you are choosing the right model (old 3DS, old 3DS XL, old 2DS vs New 3DS, New 3DS XL, New 2DS XL) and correct system version.

Also please make sure you are injecting AFTER ejecting from the extra data screen and not before.

NOTE: If your Extra Data has crashed at Section II Step 5 and you never saw the mii maker icon, you injected early. Follow the steps below to remove MSET9 and try Section II again.
