:so, i reviewed some internal archives. lemme sum this up for ya.
:it has to do with a combination of [https://www.3dbrew.org/wiki/Extdata#Shared_Extdata_0xf000000b_gamecoin.dat gamecoin.dat] and pedometer.dat. once the console catches that playcoin/pedometer data is massively out of date after rtc is updated, it starts checking the logs for every single date between the old and new rtc to find step counts and apply any additional playcoins the step counts create along the way. if there's a large time gap to cover, checking all that data one-by-one (even if most of it doesn't actually exist) takes a while. [[User:StarlitSkies|StarlitSkies]] ([[User talk:StarlitSkies|talk]]) 00:15, 18 November 2023 (UTC)

"[...] When the system is next powered on after this, it detects the gap and starts listing every single date up to the new playcoin's date." What does listing mean in this context? Zbelios (talk) 08:33, 1 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

so, i reviewed some internal archives. lemme sum this up for ya.
it has to do with a combination of gamecoin.dat and pedometer.dat. once the console catches that playcoin/pedometer data is massively out of date after rtc is updated, it starts checking the logs for every single date between the old and new rtc to find step counts and apply any additional playcoins the step counts create along the way. if there's a large time gap to cover, checking all that data one-by-one (even if most of it doesn't actually exist) takes a while. Page rename

Should this page be renamed? The name "lumabug" implies that this issue is related to Luma3DS in some way, when it isn't at all. Something like "RTC black screen bug" or "RTC bug" would be more descriptive. ihaveahax (talk) 23:48, 17 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]

"Play Coin RTC bug" maybe, its more an issue with how Play Coins work ItsCrocoSwine (talk) 00:03, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
no, play coins are just a common mechanism for triggering the issue. the issue itself is caused by step counts in general. if you want to be as precise as possible, "Pedometer RTC bug" is the best name to use. StarlitSkies (talk) 00:16, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
+1, renaming to rtc bug would be fine. perhaps keep this as a redirect to rtc bug? Doge 2 (talk) 00:29, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It would always stay as a redirect since lots of places link to this page (probably) and people know it as lumabug ihaveahax (talk) 00:29, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
+1 to rtc bug. we also should change kurisu/NH lingo to match. Eip618 (talk) 00:40, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
would it be as simple as making an alias in the command? i think a lot of people would be confused if lumabug was straight up renamed to rtcbug Doge 2 (talk) 00:43, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
should do what we did with .tag skater, along the lines of this has been moved, you're looking for .rtcbug Eip618 (talk) 00:47, 18 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
we should probably fix the assistance cog issue before we add any more commands though Doge 2 (talk) 01:53, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
yeah, but i don't think any of us have any decent idea how to do that. Eip618 (talk) 09:14, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Page moved. I chose to use the more descriptive title of "RTC black screen bug" to make it immediately clearer what it's about. ihaveahax (talk) 03:34, 22 November 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
