Bloopair allows you to connect controllers from other consoles like native Wii U Pro Controllers on the Wii U. It applies patches to the IOS-PAD module responsible for connecting Bluetooth controllers.
Features
- Connect up to 7 Bluetooth controllers
- Rumble support for certain controllers
- Show Battery levels
Supported Controllers
The following controllers are based off of what the Developer currently owns that is compatible.
- Nintendo Switch Pro Controller
- Nintendo Switch Joy-Con
- NSO SNES/N64 Controller
- PlayStation 3 Controller (Needs to be paired with a separate app before using)
- PlayStation 4 Controller
- PlayStation 5 Controller
- Xbox One S/X Controller (Firmware must be downgraded in order to use. Series S/X are not compatible due to lack of Bluetooth LE.)
Installation
- Download the latest release of Bloopair
- Extract the
wiiu
folder to the root of the SD card. - Copy the
30_bloopair.rpx
towiiu/environments/[ENVIRONMENT]/modules/setup
Usage
To pair your controller, press the SYNC button on the console, then the sync button on the controller. Once it's paired, it should work like a normal pro controller. If pairing doesn't work this way, or your SYNC button is jammed or missing, you can pair it in the pairing menu from the gamepad by pressing HOME, Controller Settings, then Pair.
Pairing a DS3 controller
The DualShock 3 needs to be paired with a mini USB cable. Once it's paired, it can be used like any other wireless Bluetooth controller. |
- Launch the homebrew launcher and start the DS3 Pairing Menu app. If you're on Aroma, you can delete the
bloopair_pair_menu.rpx
and launch the .wuhb version on the Wii U Menu. - You will be prompted to connect your USB cable to the console.
- Connect the other end to your DS3 Controller.
- A confirmation screen will say "Paired!" if it was done successfully.
- Disconnect the USB cable and return to the Home Menu.
- Press the PS button on the controller. You should now be able to use your DS3 controller!
Downgrading an Xbox One controller
- On your Xbox Console, Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
- Navigate to Profile and System > Xbox Support > Get Help > Help Topics > Harware and Networking > Controllers > My Xbox controller has issues after the last update.
- Select Check your controller's firmware to open the controller firmware reversion screen in the Accessories app, then follow instructions as shown.
Note: You can also revert your controller’s firmware on a Windows device. You will need the Xbox Accessories app for Windows installed. If you don’t have the app, get it here |
